Joy A. Busse
CEO & President (Busse Design USA)
Joy Busse founded Busse Design USA Inc. in 1997 aid leading business-to-business and consumer companies in meeting their goals of building customer loyalty through intuitive user experiences on the Web. As creative leader of the Busse Design studio team, Joy directs all aspects of design and architectural phases of Busse Design USA's product development process. Since January 2002 Joy has also been acting CEO of Busse Design Ulm, GmbH, one of Germany's largest and most established product and industrial design firm which currently employs 45 people. Joy directs and guides all business aspects of Ulm's day to day operations.
As illustrated through her accomplished work as a user centric information architect and designer, Joy has become recognized as an expert specializing in the creation of well-crafted and intuitive end user experiences. Before founding Busse Design USA, Joy managed creative teams for Excite@Home. Under Joy's direction and management, Excite's team of designers acted as pioneers in the Internet explosion as they helped to create one of the largest international consumer portals of its time.
Prior to joining Excite, Joy fine-tuned her digital media skills while working at a multimedia design firm in Northern California. Even in her early days within the industry, Joy was an active contributor to high profile accounts by designing interactive products for AT&T, Clinique, Digital Computers and Disney.
Joy has participated as a judge on the Ziff-Davis Global Information Infrastructure Awards panel, the Art Directors Club awards panel and the Web 2002 awards panel. Joy has been a regular columnist for Internet World Magazine's "Deconstructing" columns, and has written several articles on user centric product development, usability and rapid prototyping. Joy also serves as a member of the San Francisco Business Internet Group's advisory board.
Joy graduated with honors in 1995 from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
