Busse Design Partners with Navio on Long Term Product Development (Identity and Icon Development)

Emeryville, CA 05.03 - 05.06 - Navio's mission was to create the world's first interoperable network of digital assets such as content, identity, promotions, payments or rights which can be accessed, sold, traded and exchanged securely and easily via any device. A network that brings together a community of consumers and businesses that model identity, content and payments as interchangeable assets. Therefore, creating a Digital Asset eXchange (DAX) and allowing Navio to take ownership of the Digital Commerce market.

Navio's strategy was to directly focus on the media, mobile, and Internet ASP markets; building awareness with individuals, solution providers and small and medium businesses. Specific industry focus for each market had not been defined. Through market penetration, Navio planned to establish the digital asset marketplace and meet their ultimate goal of becoming the "eBay" of digital content.

Identity Development

Navio's Identity Development focused solely on the definition and design of the company's brand as it is represented in the logo. Busse went through several exploration rounds to help define what style and imagery will be most appropriate in representing the company's products & goals. The end result was a logo that is designed to work effectively across multiple media to enable Busse to create a unified brand experience throughout the other project phases.

Product and Service Icon Development

Additional icons were required for areas of the application. Busse worked closely with the Navio team to compile a list of icons, what they represent and required icon states. Busse then created representations for each one that seamlessly tied in with the application's look and feel.

About Navio
Navio is a service provider of distributed commerce solutions for digital content.

Entertainment products - from music and videos, to games and ringtones - are increasingly being delivered and consumed in digital form. Navio enables transactions around this rich content to occur direct-to-consumer, in venues beyond just centralized web stores. With Navio, content owners can reach more consumers, and consumers can transact where they spend the most time - from fan sites, to blogs, to outdoor concerts.

Today, digital content has moved beyond being simply bought, downloaded, and played on your favorite device - it's become a form of online currency. Leading brands use digital content as a way to say "thanks" to important customers or as a unit of exchange for customer information.

Consumers use digital content as a way to express their personality on a favorite social networking site; or as a "gift" to send to a friend to show you care - the possibilities are endless. Navio's powerful new "rights-based" transaction model provides the flexibility content owners, publishers and advertisers need, for today's expanded digital content requirements.
