Emeryville, CA 02.06 - 01.07 - Parametric Technology Corporation's (PTC) website was compared to a 1970's ranch style home - structurally sound, with working utilities. However, their ranch home delivered on its core requirements of a safe, dry and warm home somewhat inefficiently, and had a very dated look and feel. PTC was looking to overhaul their website to make it more visually appealing and a more productive marketing tool. PTC wanted their website to have better search capability and navigation, and to be able to easily translate and localize content by country.

Busse Design USA began the redesign process by re-architecting the site to allow for better search and navigation, and the ability to easily translate and localize by country. As the site is currently translated in 9 languages in more than 50 countries, Busse Design partnered with an expert to ensure cultural correctness throughout the site.

Busse Design USA started the visual transformation by refining both PTC's company and product logos. Next, visual interest was added with the creation of flash introductions for the homepage, all product pages, and each individual solution page. A blue and gray color palette, along with a lot of white space, was used to keep a more enterprise-focused look and feel. Banner templates were created, to keep a consistent look for promos and ads throughout the site.

Working closely with PTC, Busse Design was able to remodel PTC's ranch style home into something more contemporary, with a sensible flow and more visual appeal.
