Tello Corporation works with Busse Design to Increase Communication
Emeryville, CA 08.06 - 10.06 - Tello is a provider of unified, on-demand communication tools, supplying individual professionals, small and medium businesses, and work teams. The company produces four versions of their communication application: Tello Pro/Basic for the desktop client, Tello Web for lite, web-based participation, Tello Outlook Toolbar for access to Tello Pro/Basic within Outlook, and Tello Mobile.
The major problem areas of the old designs' functionalities were slow escalation from a simple call to a conference room, 30 second experience after installation to active user, difficulty consolidating contacts into lists and sharing groups of contacts. The visual elements of the application were undeveloped and hadn't been considered. Busse design set out to redefine usability and design for Tello. The value in the communications market is not in the transporter, which is simply a commodity, but in the software applications on top of the transport, which creates the user experience.
After an in depth process of mapping each level of the application and its functions, Busse rebuilt the application with the User Interaction as the central focus. With the application mapped out and coherent, the Busse Design team moved onto UI design and finally to visual design. The result being an easy to use, modern looking application that was extremely versatile and would support group communication.
