Busse Design USA Helps Encourage Zoomerang Visitors To Return For More

Emeryville, CA 08.06 - 01.07 - New website (www.zoomerang.com) aims to show Zoomerang customers, with an existing free subscription, how much more they would benefit from upgrading to a Zoomerang zPro subscription.

With goals 1 - 10 being improved conversion rates of free to paid subscribers, Busse Design worked with the Zoomerang team to re-architect and redesign the existing Website. To help determine which design direction was better received by potential Zoomerang customers, Busse Design conducted user interviews on paper designs during the initial stages of the project. Additionally, Busse Design conducted usability testing on image-mapped screens to ensure that customers could easily find the information they required to make a purchase decision. Based on outcome of the usability testing, final design adjustments were made, and a new site was launched with satisfying results.

"The new web site hit all of our targets while creating a great new look and feel." Amy Millard - Zoomerang, VP Marketing

Zoomerang's primary goal when they enlisted Busse Design to redesign their website, was to improve conversion rates of free to paid subscriptions. On the old Zoomerang site, visitors easily saw the value in the Zoomerang Basic (free) product, but were failing to see the value in upgrading to the Zoomerang zPro product. Zoomerang felt that their zPro product was extremely easy to use for actionable feedback on business critical decisions, but their existing website did not communicate this message. The benefits of upgrading to the zPro product really needed to stand out.

Zoomerang also wanted customers from their various market segments (human resources, marketing, education, non-profit,...) to be able to easily access information pertinent to their own business. Since Zoomerang's product is targeted at both corporations and consumers, they wanted a website that had the right balance between a corporate and a consumer look and feel. In addition, Zoomerang felt that their website had an outdated look. Overall, they felt that the Website needed to be simple without feeling simplistic.

Understanding Zoomerang's goals and target audiences enabled Busse Design to create a website that resulted in the right combination of content tone and structure. Zoomerang zPro features that differentiate it from Zoomerang Basic, and from their competitors, are really highlighted in the new website. The "Sign-up Now" call to action is glowing and begs to be clicked on. The new site facilitates a quick and easy purchase decision. The color palette and graphic imagery are inviting without being overly playful, appealing to both corporations and individual consumers.
