Contextual Inquiry

To better understand user needs, Busse Design assessed current users in their environment to determine how they used the existing application and how it could be improved. Through our user interviews, Busse Design was able to extract key information. Identifying common areas of confusion in the application, highly valued features and perceived "missing" features allowed us to construct a model of overall user satisfaction.

We discovered that there were many features within the application these users either had a difficult time using or didn't perceive as functionally valuable. Users found the existing navigation confusing and content groupings or labels difficult to understand. In addition, there was a perception that the interface design lacked sophistication, which in turn skewed the users' perception of the product's reliability.
