LEAPFROG
Information Architecture

LeapFrog's priority requirement in establishing the information architecture for site content areas was to establish clear, age-specific paths to product information. Web pages holding product highlights would in turn provide contextual access to the associated developmental and curricular information associated with each product. To achieve the balance between product promotion and communication of expertise, Busse Design created a meaningful taxonomy for the site that divided product information into four core age groups to help direct users to relevant content. In tandem with developing the site architecture, Busse Design also developed an information hierarchy for a new site feature, the LeapFrog Learning Guide. The Learning Guide acts as a matrix of information providing information seekers with an "at a glance" reference for age-appropriate developmental details pertaining to individual products. LeapFrog's Learning Guide allows users to browse product collections in the four target age groups by skill set as it teaches users how to leverage LeapFrog products to promote lifelong learning.
