Site Architecture & Work Flow Analysis
The global site map for the Red Hat Network (RHN) encompassed much more than the RHN itself. We had to understand the RHN within the larger context of Red Hat's total online offering. The map covered the Redhat.com site and the e-commerce site, in addition to customer support, software upgrade services and configuration tools.
Flowcharting the Red Hat Network required comprehensive understanding of each user's functional needs as well as extensive versions of each flow based on the different audiences. We created multiple flows for the same task with different users. This allowed the engineering team to see functional differences in the application as well as the core process flows themselves.
